Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.
(Matthew 4:10 NIV)
Foundational to the entire process is worship. God must be
the center of attention in every church. He must be the church's highest
priority. A church's view of God will determine how they approach every other
activity of the church..
Two people are better off than one, for they can help
each other succeed... A person standing alone ca be attacked and defeated, but
two can stand back-to-back and conquer
(Ecclesiastes 4:9,12 NLT)
The Five Greatest needs of the human personality are Significance, Support, Stability, Stimulation, and Self Expression. Getting connected to church family best satisfies these needs. God has wired us for connection. So just as the early church met together and ate together, so our church body needs to be connected to each other. When people are connected they will achieve more.
There are different kinds of service, all of you together are Christ's body, and each of you are part of it. (1 Corinthians 12:5, 27 NLT)
One of the greatest needs that Pastors have is to get lay people to become involved in ministry. Pastors are continually asked how to get good Christians from "spectator" to "participant". In an Acts 2 church, people are eager to serve.
The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise to return, as some people think. No he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed but wants everyone to repent.
(2 Peter 3:9 NLT)
An Acts 2 church understands its culture. It must effectively train its people to balance all forms of Evangelism methods to reach the lost for Jesus. Compassion ministries, friendship evangelism, relationship building with redemptive purpose, personal evangelism, preaching, teaching, and lifestyle examples are all necessary to impact our society with a message of repentance and redemption.
